From May 30 to June 1, 2024, the 5th Smart City and Intelligent Construction Industry Expo and Forum will be held at the Wuhan International Expo Center.


This year's expo will present an exhibition area of 30,000 square meters and set up three theme venues, focusing on the core topics of smart city and smart construction. The event will attract participants from 13 provinces and cities across the country, covering the latest developments in 17 cities and prefectures, with the joint support of 27 associations, and is honored to invite more than 10 academicians to participate, as well as more than 300 industry-leading enterprises to participate in the exhibition.

Founded in 1954, Wuhan Municipal Engineering Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Wuhan Municipal Institute") is a comprehensive survey and design enterprise integrating urban and rural planning, engineering survey, engineering design, project management, engineering supervision, engineering testing and technology research and development, and has won the "National Advanced Survey and Design Enterprise", "National Engineering Survey and Geotechnical Industry Integrity Unit" and "Top Ten Survey and Design Enterprises in Hubei Province and other honorary titles, the operating income of survey and design has entered the top 100 in the country, and it has been shortlisted for the list of "Science and Technology Reform Demonstration Enterprises" of the State Council.


Wuhan Municipal Institute adheres to the development vision of "being an overall solution provider in the field of urban and rural construction", and has 10 Grade A qualifications and Grade A qualifications for municipal construction general contracting, forming a technical system with complete categories and outstanding characteristics. Over the past 70 years since its establishment, the Wuhan Municipal Institute has led the design of more than 80% of the ring lines and radiation lines in Wuhan, and participated in the design of more than 70% of the rainwater and sewage pipes, rainwater drainage pumping stations and sewage treatment plants in Wuhan, laying the foundation for the development pattern of Wuhan as an international metropolis.

Smart water management platform



A smart water platform with independent intellectual property rights


Based on the past experience of smart water projects, Wuhan Municipal Design Institute has successfully developed a smart water management platform with completely independent intellectual property rights, which focuses on the eight functional sectors of water assets, monitoring and early warning, video surveillance, engineering projects, drainage household information, inspection and maintenance, water environment, and emergency management, integrates data resources in an all-round way, improves the efficiency of water information management, realizes rapid query of water-related data, and dynamic management of core business information. Online monitoring data early warning and forecasting, urban waterlogging flood control command and dispatch. It has built an integrated industry solution for smart water affairs, improved the efficiency of water management, and empowered the intelligent management of the water industry.

Water asset management mainly focuses on the data and information characteristics of assets such as urban lakes, port canals, embankments, municipal pipe networks, community pipe networks, and pump gate factories and pool facilities, and conducts statistics and visualization of related assets in the form of rolling data, folded column mixed charts, pie charts, and bar charts. Based on the GIS base map of the platform, it integrates five thematic maps, including rainwater zoning, sewage zoning, drainage system, and municipal and community survey pipe network, supports data query and management in different thematic modes, and has five analysis tools, which can be used for upstream analysis, downstream analysis, connectivity analysis, cross-section analysis and longitudinal profile analysis based on pipe network data.

Function Highlights - Monitoring and Early Warning


The monitoring and early warning includes four visual function panels: equipment list, real-time data, alarm data, and equipment status, which realize the management and maintenance of front-end monitoring equipment, data reception, analysis, storage, external distribution, alarm and other services. At the same time, the function integrates four modules: weather map, weather radar, weather warning, and rainfall, which are used to obtain real-time cloud map, wind flow field, precipitation, temperature and other data of the current area, and view the current meteorological flow direction, meteorological warning, and rainfall in the specified period.

Prevention and control of urban waterlogging and water environment watershed management

Technology pilot platform



Professional and experienced technical team


The pilot platform team is composed of senior technical experts and academic leaders such as professional chief engineer and professor-level senior engineer with rich engineering design experience in Wuhan Municipal Engineering Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., all of whom are the backbone of urban waterlogging prevention and water environment basin governance, with a total team of 33 people, including 26 professor-level and associate professors, and 7 intermediate titles.


The technical leaders of the team have won many honorary titles such as "Model Worker of Housing and Urban-Rural Construction System", "Model Worker of Hubei Province", "Model Worker of Wuhan City", "Dacheng Craftsman" of Wuhan City, "Innovation Talent" of Hubei Provincial Enterprise, and "Yellow Crane Talent" of Wuhan City. At the same time, the platform relies on the first batch of "expert science and technology innovation workstations" of Wuhan Association for Science and Technology established by the company, and introduces senior professors from 985 domestic colleges and universities as technical guidance.

Comprehensive and powerful technical advantages


This platform has been filed and certified by the Wuhan Science and Technology Bureau, and can carry out a number of pilot services such as water environment treatment technology research in urban basins, urban waterlogging prevention and control technology research, waterlogging risk model assessment, underground drainage pipe network survey, etc., and closely follow the needs of national, provincial and municipal policies and the development of cutting-edge technologies in the industry. At the same time, the platform has its own Wuhan drainage (water environment) asset information platform, which has detailed basic data of water affairs, which can realize data sharing and application, and provide a solid and reliable foundation for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements of the pilot platform. The technical team of the platform is proficient in the application of GIS and ICM software, and has a number of technologies such as hydraulic model, hydrological model, water quality model and waterlogging assessment model construction, multi-dimensional qualitative and quantitative analysis, to ensure the transformation of scientific research and technological achievements.

The platform team has comprehensive technical coverage and has more than 1,000 independent intellectual property achievements. The waterlogging risk model assessment service based on the transformation and promotion of the pilot platform has been successfully applied in a number of rail transit waterlogging prevention and control projects in Wuhan, providing basic data for the improvement of rail transit waterlogging prevention capacity, and the economic and social benefits are significant. Relying on the platform, the "Research on Typical Annual Rainfall Ratio Based on Wuhan Sponge City Assessment" was carried out, and a set of multi-dimensional rainfall characteristic index system was innovatively constructed, and a number of invention patents were authorized, and it won the second prize of science and technology of Hubei Survey and Design Association. Up to now, the pilot platform has carried out more than 10 pilot service projects, with a pilot service income of more than 18 million yuan in the past three years, and a number of service achievements have won national, provincial and municipal excellent urban and rural planning awards, consulting awards and science and technology awards.
