On the afternoon of April 24th, the 7th Smart City and Intelligent Construction Industry Expo and Forum "Regeneration, Symbiosis and Rebirth"-Urban Renewal Sub-forum was held in Wuhan International Expo Center. Under the guidance of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Wuhan Municipal People's Government, Wuhan Housing and Urban Renewal Bureau and Wuhan Natural Resources and Urban-Rural Development Bureau, this forum was hosted by Wuhan Urban Construction Investment and Development Group Co., Ltd., undertaken by Wuhan International Exhibition Group Co., Ltd., and co-organized by Wuhan Civil Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. and Wuhan Building Economic Promotion Association. Leaders of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Wuhan Municipal People's Government attended the forum and delivered speeches. More than 200 experts and business representatives from urban renewal implementation entities, finance, design, construction, operation and other fields gathered. The forum aims to gather the strengths of "politics, enterprises, research, finance and wisdom" and jointly explore innovative paths and practical experiences of smart empowerment of high-quality urban development through policy interpretation, case sharing and frontier discussion.

The forum kicked off in a short film showing the achievements of Wuhan's urban renewal "small but beautiful", which instantly brought the participants into the narrative of changes from "industrial rust belt" to "life show belt".

Shi Peng, a first-class researcher of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Wuhan Municipal People's Government, stressed in his speech that 2026 is a crucial year for the three-year urban renewal, and the current urban renewal work is essentially different from the traditional "three old" transformation or real estate development. The core of urban renewal in the new era is to solve the deep-seated problems of urban development by solving the problems of urban renewal. Yu Qingqing, deputy general manager of the corporate finance department of China Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Wuhan Branch, brought a practical solution in the sharing entitled "From" Reform "to" Good ":ICBC's financial plan helps Wuhan to revitalize the city. She deeply analyzed the innovation of financing mode in specific scenes such as the renovation of historical blocks, the renovation of old residential quarters and the optimization of enterprise assets, and pointed out in particular that the repayment source of such projects can rely on the market-oriented cash flow such as operating income and rent generated by the renovated property. This not only provides financial support, but also verifies the feasibility of the sustainable renewal model from a financial perspective. The forum revealed that many financial institutions, such as Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Agricultural Bank of China and Hankou Bank, have demonstrated diversified financing services on the spot to jointly build a financial ecology supporting urban renewal.

On the topic of "Adhering to the Five Principles and Creating a New Model of Central-local Cooperation", the representative of China Communications First Public Bureau shared how large central enterprises can deeply participate in local renewal with new responsibilities. The vice president of Vision Group faced the real challenge and discussed "How to do urban renewal in the economic downturn cycle", which triggered deep thinking on updating the economic model and anti-risk ability of the project.

The program director from Xidi International, taking the "Renovation Practice of Guling Town in Lushan Mountain" as an example, shows how the design power "protects, rejuvenates and empowers" the historical context. China Construction International has brought hard-core sharing of "Modular Integrated Building Technology System", which provides technical solutions for rapid construction and quality control in renewal. The "Digital Intelligence Operation Platform for Urban Renewal" promoted by Yongyexing points to an intelligent management tool for long-term operation after the renewal.

How does artificial intelligence empower and update? Mei Jiangang, the moderator of the forum and the chairman of Beijing Kaichen Oriental Digital Technology Co., Ltd., pointed out in the sharing that AI can bid farewell to planning "blind people touch the elephant" through accurate surveying and mapping and spatial modeling, and solve the "hurry-scurry" by means of intelligent security and environmental monitoring, thus building a new system of scientific planning and intelligent governance. The sharing of the Medical Technology Transformation Center of China Technology Exchange (Hubei) focuses on "the position of biomedicine in the future industrial development", revealing the great potential of urban renewal to provide a space carrier for frontier industries.

The climax of the forum appeared in the heavy release and promotion. At the scene, the "Wuhan City Investment Urban Renewal Research Institute" was officially unveiled. The establishment of this think tank platform aims to gather political, enterprise, academic and research resources, focus on policy research, standard setting and technological innovation, and provide long-term intellectual support for urban renewal, marking the new stage of Wuhan's exploration in the field of renewal from project practice to systematization and industrialization.

Subsequently, Ding Shu, general manager of Wuhan Civil Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., as the co-organizer, made the theme promotion of "Urban Renewal Begins a New Journey, Gathering Strength and Empowering at the Right Time", calling on the professional forces of the whole industry to join hands to jointly meet the complex challenges of the stock age.

The holding of this forum coincides with a critical period for Wuhan to promote the transformation of development mode through urban renewal. In the theme pavilion of intelligent construction and urban renewal of Shuangzhi Expo held in the same period, the booth system of the Municipal Housing Bureau and the Capital Construction Bureau displayed policy tools and benchmarking cases; City Investment Group, Urban Construction Group, Metro Group, Chengfa Group, China Construction International, China Communications First Bureau and other industry leaders gathered to discuss cooperation. The audience can intuitively feel that the revitalization of the city is not only the functional style, but also the quality charm; Technology empowerment brings not only efficiency improvement, but also a warm experience.

Although the forum is over, the thinking and practice of "regeneration, symbiosis and rebirth" are still going on.
