Huang Huan pointed out that the connotation of urban renewal in China has completed the transformation from "space" to "people" and from "material" to "culture", and put forward the idea of urban renewal under the construction of cultural scenes. Taking the renovation practice of Hankou historical style area as an example, Huang explained in depth the concept of "people-oriented" in urban planning, and said that attaching importance to history and culture and trying to preserve the common memory of the city is the top priority in the current and future urban renewal work.

Starting from their respective professional fields, Hou Jin believes that urban renewal has now shifted from large-scale incremental construction to stock quality improvement and incremental structural adjustment, and it is necessary to coordinate resources, overall planning, systematic management and sustainable operation to create urban renewal demonstration benchmark projects. Yi Yong proposed that the future development of cities must be discussed from the perspective of development. Urban renewal should be the iterative upgrading of industries, and more profound social and economic development should be driven by effective industrial introduction.
